  • 1karubAru – It is derived from urdu word ‘kar-o-bar’ meaning Work, labour, business, affairs, dealings, transactions etc. This urdu word is derived from saMskRta root ‘kR’. Source - [Urudu Dictionary]
  • 2nelaku mUDu vAnalu –In Tamizh, this is called ‘mummAri’. Please refer to Andal Thiruppavai ‘ OGgi ulagaLanda’ wherein she describes the benefits of singing the praise of the Lord. Sri Thyagaraja has brought, in condensed form, the description of the reign of Sri Rama, contained in Srimad Valmiki Ramayana – Yuddha Kanda, Chapter 128 (Rama Pattabhishekam), verses 98 – 106.
  • The description of ‘mummAri’ – three rains in a month - is given in Tamizh treatise ‘vivEka cintAmaNi’, verse 26 as under –
