[edit] Variations

  • 1bhaja rAmaM sataM mAansa – In some books this is given twice.
  • General – In some books, the word ‘mAnasa’ is given at the end of each caraNa.

[edit] References

  • 2yama purArAti lAbhaM – During Tripura Samhara, Vishnu becomes the point of the arrow of the bow (Pasupata) which killed the three demons. Therefore, Sri Thyagaraja describes Lord Rama (Vishnu) as Yama of the arrow shot by Lord Siva. Please refer to mahAbhArata – karNa parva – Sections 34– [Tripura]

[edit] Commentary

  • 3lAbha – this word has many meanings – ‘gain’, ‘acquisition’, ‘attain’, ‘perception’, ‘knowledge’, ‘throw’ etc. Of these, ‘throw’ seems to be most appropriate – here the word ‘throw’ has been adapted as ‘shot’.
